Tips for this new semester

We are getting close to March, and the weather is getting warmer and warmer every day. However, that also means a new university year will start soon. Of course, most of us still wish that the winter break won't end that soon, but we need to be ready for this semester as soon as possible cause classes are just around the corner.
But how should I be ready? I think there isn't a correct answer to that question. Maybe what works for me won't work for you, but I notice that we, as international students are at a disadvantage, not only cause Korean isn't our first language but also cause we don't understand the system at all. After all these years, I'm still doubting if I chose the right amount of courses or if I'll be ok dealing with the exam period just cause I chose a challenging class without knowing it.

So I'll give you a few tips for this new semester.
- Plan your schedule days or even weeks before course registration day. You can search for the courses you'll have this semester on the platform of your university. There will be the curriculum, the credits, and the schedule of each class; looking at the curriculum, you can see if the content will be challenging for you, and then you can decide if you want to register for that course.
- Try not to overdo your schedule. Some people try to listen to all the courses but remember that you are studying in Korean, so you will need time to review and sometimes even translate the classes. So it is better if you can have a day off and, if it isn't possible, a day with one or two lectures to have time to review all the content that you learned that week.
- Listen to a lecture that you're passionate about. It doesn't matter if it isn't related with your major. The main point here is that you'll get fun while learning.
- Introduce yourself to your professors the first day after class. Believe it or not this little action can make a big difference at the end of the day. When the professor get to know you, they will be more approachable, and it will be easy for you to ask them questions or material about the lecture.
Good luck to all the students in this new semester. Remember that you are capable of everything. It doesn't matter how hard it is, you can do it.
