Must have apps in South Korea
작성일 : 2023-03-15
There are always a lot of questions from foreign students about necessary apps in South Korea.
Korean university students frequently rely on mobile apps to stay informed about their universities and connect with one another; yet, using the same apps may be challenging for students who do not know Korean.
So! Today I decided to write about the 7 most necessary apps for students for their daily life in Korea.
Naver Map.
The most effective and reliable method for finding your way around Korea is the native Naver Map, which is used by the majority of Koreans. This software is crucial because it is available in Korean, English, Japanese, and Chinese, to start. The ability to download maps in advance for offline use is an additional bonus! Kakao Map, which is related to other Kakao apps, is another popular navigation app.
Papago.
The best translator to use inside Korea is Papago. Every Korean uses this application when communicating with a foreigner. And in reality, Papago translates words more naturally than Google Translator.
Everytime.
Through the app, a variety of information is provided, from official university notices to casual notes made by students enrolled in each university. Any students who have formally registered in the university are eligible to sign up for the app, but exchange students are not. The app is run as a closed community for students enrolled at the same university. The app is accessible via the web and mobile devices and supports both Korean and English.
Students can make their timetable in this app and at the end of the semester they can calculate their GPA.
Campuspick.
Campuspick is a mobile app linked with Everytime. It provides both Korean and English versions and can be accessed through both mobile app and website. The service offers extensive information on school clubs, extracurricular activities, and contests as well as volunteering opportunities and internship programs.
Kakao Talk.
I think all you hear about this app. This is a chatting app like Telegram and WhatsApp and Koreans use this app for chatting in daily life. Kakao Talk is one of South Korea's two most popular smartphone apps. Arriving foreigners will want to download the app as soon as possible so that they may communicate with classmates or coworkers.
Coupang.
Coupang is Korea’s second-largest online shopping market similar to Amazon. The most popular app for buying food, bakeries, and clothes, and all you want is Coupang. Coupang provides fast delivery, cheap price, and the best service for all customers.
Baemin.
The surprisingly rich selection of food options offered by Baemin is made possible by its cooperation with so many restaurants, cafes, and even bars throughout Korea. Even if you do not know Korean you can easily choose the food from pictures and wait for when will arrive your food!
