As applications for the undergraduate  Global Korean scholarship are gradually approaching, some of you would probably have started preparation. At the same time, some of you who are interested probably have no idea where and how to go about your research with everything about that.

I come with essential but important tips for this particular set to help as you start your process and document preparation... This will be a series where I will upload articles about , how to go about searching for universities , scholarships, document preparation, etc.

Firstly before
you start any research, the first and most important website you need to know of is the StudyinKorea website; anyone interested in anything academic-related must be aware of this website.

Steps on how to navigate  the website to research properly

Study in Korea (https://www.studyinkorea.go.kr/en/main.do): This is the official website of the Korean government for international students. It provides information on universities, scholarships, visas, and other resources.

Firstly Change the language on the website from the default Korean language to English to be able to use the site

2) Register as a member and create an account on the website; this will enable you to gain access to information and also participate in online webinars held on the site during recruitment and before the application.

When the application period for universities is drawing closer, before the new year, take note to check the websites, as online webinars and education fairs are held; make sure to look out for them as a lot of Korean universities participate in them during this period you will be able to and can send a direct message to universities you have interest in, as well as check their school websites and what's it contains.

The image above is just an example of the type of education fairs held, this one just being for language programs; undergraduate and master fairs are also kept as well

Make sure to try and register, as many Korean universities participate in these.

Utilize social media
You can also use social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn to find scholarship opportunities. You can join groups related to scholarships or education in South Korea and ask for information or advice. Here are a few Instagram handles that frequently provide info regarding studying in Korea, scholarships, and much more.
@doyouknowellie - Ellie is a Korean language student who shares her experiences studying in Korea and tips and advice for other students who want to learn the language.
@seoulinspired - This account is run by a Canadian studying and living in Seoul for several years. They share information about Korean culture, food, language, and tips for studying in Korea.
@femmehead - This account is run by an American currently studying in Korea. She shares her experiences as an international student and tips for other students who want to learn in Korea.

These are just a few examples of Instagram influencers who focus on studying in Korea and many others out there. Just research and find reputable influencers who provide helpful information.

WEBSITES FOR SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION.
Now, what most people don't realize and know is that, in regards to scholarships for studying in Korea, the GKS program isn't the only good scholarship out there, all you need to do is find the one that suits your purpose, and also some scholarships offer even learning the Korean language as well!. I know, right? Very amazing. Also, universities provide partial to full scholarships; below are just a few websites that give information for such areas
Korea Education Center (https://www.kec21.org/eng/): This website provides information on Korean language courses and cultural programs for international students.
Korea University Global (https://summer.korea.edu/summer/): This website provides information on summer programs at Korea University for international students.
Seoul National University (https://en.snu.ac.kr/admission/): This website provides information on admissions, scholarships, and programs at Seoul National University.
Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) (https://www.kaist.ac.kr/en/): This website provides information on admissions, scholarships, and programs at KAIST, a leading science and technology university in Korea.
These websites should provide a good starting point for exploring study opportunities in Korea.

Oh, and also note, It is important to note that scholarship requirements and deadlines can vary, so it's essential to research thoroughly and prepare early.

Finally, my last tip, don't forget to do your research, don't depend solely on what one website offers, but make sure to compare, and this is where we, as your mentors here, come in; if you are curious about anything, or want to confirm a piece of information, never hesitate to send a message or leave a comment, and you will get a reply.

As always, wishing you a fantastic time and good luck!!!??, from your ever-helpful mentor Chebem; see you next time???
